Irving Building now on the market.........

We're at an advanced stage of working up our bid with Homes for Oxford for the Irving Building. OCLT will be the bidding organisation with the funds to pay for the site. Deadline is noon April 7th.  A very exciting new requirement from the vendors is that the successful bidder will build a hall on the part of the Irving site adjacent to the existing Comper Nursery School.  Help us secure this wonderful building for the first community-led housing project in the city where at least 50% of the homes will be genuinely and permanently affordable. The Land Trust is bringing in its special expertise here and showing how we can develop the site but also use our asset lock and charitable status to prevent Right to Buy on any of the affordable homes. We will also use coop leases for the affordable homes and this adds another layer of security to avoiding the Right to Buy.  If you're interested in getting involved there are three very easy ways : send messages of support via https://docs.google.com/a/giantpeachpr.co.uk/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeUfBKJjgF.... As previously we are still using Just Giving to attract small donations as we need another £3K to complete our bid. The new requirements in the sales docments are very much what we support but we need to get our architects to do more design work and we also need another iteration of our business plan. You can also get more directly invlved by joining the Land Trust.  Read more by going to the Homes for Oxford websitehttp://www.homesforoxford.org.
